Obverse
On the coin obverse against the smooth background there is the small National Emblem of Ukraine and inscriptions: УКРАЇНА (Ukraine) (above) and 2 ГРИВНІ (2 hryvnia) / 2004 (beneath); in the centre there is a depiction of a stylized flower; on the right this composition is framed with a stage curtain. On the coin obverse there is also the Mint logotype of the National Bank of Ukraine.
Reverse
On the coin reverse in the foreground there is a portrait of Maria Zankovetska; in the background there is a stylized floral ornamental pattern; on the left around the circumference there is an inscription: МАРІЯ ЗАНЬКОВЕЦЬКА (Maria Zankovetska) and beneath - 1854-1934, her years of life.
