Description:
Obverse
The Vidzeme coat of arms is placed in the upper part of the coin, with a peasant in a cart pulled by a two-horse team below it. The inscription 1 LATS, with the year 2004 inscribed in a semi-circle beneath it, is at the bottom of the obverse.
Reverse
The reverse of the coin depicts two serfs making timber, against a background of a board with letters carved in wood, with a pair of dividers on each side of the board. The inscription VIDZEME is arranged in a semi-circle at the bottom of the coin.
