Obverse
In the central part of a Brass ring there are two connected squares that symbolize the Republic of Croatia. Around the squares, there are placed 12 stars that symbolize European Union. All stars are interlaced with three lines that symbolize Croatian braiding. On the lower side of a ring, there is written the date "18.VI.2004." (VI is number 6 in Roman). On the left side of the date is placed a square (symbol of the Republic of Croatia) and on the right side of a date is placed a star (symbol of European Union). From the left side of a date, it is written "REPUBLIKA HRVATSKA KANDIDAT ZA CLANSTVO U EUROPSKOJ UNIJI" (The Republic of Croatia Candidate for being a member of European Union). Above the square, in the ring, it is written the signature of the engraver (DM).
Reverse
In the Brass center of the coin, it is written nominal value of the coin, number 25. In the contours of the number 25, there is shown a marten running to the right. Under the number it is written "KUNA". In the lower central part of a ring, it is placed a Coat of Arms of the Republic of Croatia. On the left side of a Coat of Arms of the Republic of Croatia it is placed laurel branch and on the right side, it is placed oak branch.On the upper part of the ring it is written "REPUBLIKA HRVATSKA" (The Republic of Croatia).
